Registered Nursing Program: Day/Alternative Options, A.S.

This program includes 39 credits of nursing theory and clinical practice in health care facilities. Each nursing course requires clinical practice. Clinical practice requirements can vary from 90 to 157.5 hours per semester. Students must earn a grade of 78 or higher in all NUR courses. Students who fail to meet either the clinical objective or the grade requirement of an NUR course fail that course. To ensure currency, credits for BIO-203, 204 and 205 earned more than ten years prior to enrollment in the nursing clinical sequence are not accepted. Note that there are many requirements that must be met for acceptance to the nursing programs. Admission Requirements Advising Note
- Complete TEAS VI Exam with a score of 60 percent in each of the four sections (Reading, Math, Science and English). All courses for admissions requirements must be completed with a C or better.
- Credits for Anatomy and Physiology/Lab that were earned more than ten (10) years prior to enrollment in the nursing program are not accepted.
- As a prerequisite for a clinical placement this program requires that all students must undergo a Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) check and a Sex Offender Registry Information (SORI) check.
