OIM-132 Administrative Business Communication I


(Formerly OIM-130) This course will develop the skills needed to create documents that are used within office and medical office environments. Writing assignments will include emails, memorandums, and letters. Projects utilizing Outlook for email and electronic calendar activities will be completed. Students create PowerPoint presentations based on research related to office procedures and/or office functions. Students will also learn to prepare agendas, implement and conduct business meetings, and develop skills in taking minutes at meetings. Individualized review of fundamental English skills will be based on pre-test results. Proofreading and editing skills both manually and digitally will be included.
Prerequisites ENG-095 , and OIM-101  or OIM-103
