CSC-120 Intro to Comp Sci & Object Oriented Prog


This is a first course in Object Oriented Programming (OOP) theory, logic and design. Taught in the College’s hands-on computer classrooms, this course emphasizes the program design and development process including concepts of variables, flow control, objects, classes, methods, text/stream I/O, arrays, and vectors. and polymorphism. Students will use an Object Oriented Programming language as they design code, debug and implement several programs covering the topics presented. Programs will be created to run both using the IDE and from the command line. This course fulfills the Learning Community Seminar requirement for students in AA Computer Science, AS Computer Science, AS Computer Engineering areas of study. Other departments may allow this course to be used as a LC seminar for their students. Students in majors other than the ones listed above should obtain their advisor’s or the leading faculty member’s approval before registering in the course. Prerequisites MAT-099 , and RDG-095  and ENG-095  or ELL-103  or Higher. Minimum Grade of ‘C’ required.
