GIS-230 Introduction to Remote Sensing This course provides an essential introduction to the dynamic field of remote sensing, offering a comprehensive understanding of the fundamental principles, remote sensing technologies, and applications. Through a blend of theoretical concepts, application of software-based lessons, and hands-on experiences, students will acquire practical skills in image acquisition, exploration, enhancement, interpretation, and analysis enabling the extraction of valuable information from remote sensing imagery. Students will discover the diverse applications of remote sensing including but not limited to environmental modeling, disaster management, urban planning, and technical innovation.
