ENV-225 Community Health and the Environment


This course explores the interplay between community health and the environment in the U.S., with a particular emphasis on the impact of environmental factors on human well-being in urban settings. Students will examine how pollution, climate change, urban planning, socioeconomic factors, and public health policies influence health outcomes in various communities. The course highlights disparities in community health across different populations, focusing on environmental justice and health equity issues. Students will evaluate strategies for promoting sustainable and healthy communities. This interdisciplinary course integrates perspectives from public health, environmental science, and urban studies to address contemporary health challenges. This course meets the General Education requirement for Community and Cultural Contexts.
