SGT-115 Asepsis for Surgical Technology

This course covers the principles and practices of surgical asepsis that must be maintained in the operating room. This course will cover a brief introduction to microbiology with emphasis on infection control in the surgical setting. The course will cover sterilization, disinfection and antisepsis and the role of the surgical technologist as it applies to these principles.
Prerequisites Admission into the Surgical Technology Program.
