The Communication Major at Bunker Hill Community College is a great first step for students interested in communication-related careers. The Associate in Arts Degree in Communication offers foundational training in communication and prepares students to transfer to four-year colleges, as well as pursue careers in a wide variety of fields. The program offers courses in the dynamic processes of human communication, media, journalism, and more. Communication students will learn to effectively, ethically, and inclusively express themselves through writing, speaking, and digital media. Students will also develop their critical thinking, analytic, and technical skills.

Semester 1 Advising Note - Semester 1 is typically the Fall Semester.
- New degree-seeking students enrolled in 9 credits or more must take a Learning Community Seminar or a Learning Community Cluster within their first year. Communication majors should take COM-110 to fulfill this requirement.
- Students, please consult with a Communication faculty member before registering.
- Students intending to use Mass Transfer are recommended to take quantitative math (MAT-174 Quantitative Reasoning )
- COM-101 and COM-171 are program requirements and thus cannot be used to satisfy the General Education Creative Work requirement.
