CHM-120 Principles of Inorganic Chemistry & Lab


This course is an introduction to the basic concepts of inorganic chemistry. Topics include measurement theory, methods of scientific investigation, atomic theory, nuclear radiation, compound formation, chemical nomenclature, chemical reactions, the mole concept, solution chemistry, acid-base chemistry, and the relevance of chemistry in health professions. Laboratory work will introduce students to basic laboratory techniques, safety regulations, and chemical hygiene.
Class Meets 3 hrs. lecture; 3 hrs. lab.

Prerequisites ENG-095  and ESL-098  or RDG-095 ; or ELL-103 ; and MAT-097  or placement
